The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

We love because he first loved us.   1 John 4:19

paper, heart, symbol-1100254.jpgThe greatest love story ever told is the love of God. The love He has for every one of His children. Which includes you! We can read this story and know it’s still being written through you and me.

We love because God loved us first. And His love is unconditional. For each of us individually. We were created out of His love-to love and be loved.

John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God gave a piece of Himself to save us, enduring grief, pain, and hurt. Yet, He endured it. He knew His people had strayed and this was the only way to save them.

God loves you the same today. Whether you have strayed, are struggling, or have sins you are grappling with. He still loves you. The price has already been paid, and God’s loving hand is reaching for you, waiting for you to simply accept His love and mercy.

Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Romans 8:38-39 tell us this, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God wants what is best for us, for us to be cleansed, AND He still wants to spend forever with us!

I know sometimes we don’t believe it. We doubt His love for us. Sometimes we doubt altogether, and sometimes we feel His love is for others but “not for me.” The enemy would be thrilled for you to believe this lie. Please don’t. God’s love is for ALL who believe, including you.

The Bible is God’s love letter to us filled with His love, grace, and mercy. Not only that but He also provides us with guidance and direction because our loving Father knows just what we need. All of it, including reassurance of His love can be found there.

This week, I pray that you accept God’s love, praise him for the sacrifice of Jesus, read His love letter, and experience the true joy that only faith in Him and His love can provide.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, As I walk through this month of love, help me to remember the most important love there is, Yours! Open my heart to accept it so that I can experience the joy that comes from it and then pour that love into others in my life. Thank You for loving me as I am, for wanting me, and for Jesus my Savior. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
