Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 21:21-22
How many times has doubt stood in our way? How many times have we thought we believed but really we harbored doubt or ran on hope rather than true faith?
In these verses, Jesus tells us that we can do the things He has and that we will receive what we ask for in prayer. But we have to believe 100% that He can-either through us (power in Him) or for us.
Prayer, especially asking in prayer, is not asking and hoping he will. It’s asking and knowing He will. It’s the belief He has heard it and will follow through. It doesn’t matter what we ask, remember, He wants us to bring ALL of it to Him. As long as we pray and believe, it will happen.
So when you pray, pause to focus on your prayer, God, and your heart to ensure you have complete faith that what you need, want, or hope for will be brought to you by Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank you for Your unconditional love and the reminder that You will provide for me. Help me to clear my mind so I can focus solely on You when I pray and be free of any doubt. I know You can and that You will. Help me to not forget that I can have complete faith and trust in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
