God Shows Up

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

                     Matthew 28:20

Have you ever wondered where God is in you life? If He even hears you? Or listened to a sermon about God caring about all parts of your life but fell into the “but not mine” mentality?

I know I have, especially the last one. And then, suddenly, God will show Himself. God shows up in our lives even in the smallest of moments. We often think of Him being there in big ways or crucial moments, but the truth is, there are so many ways He shows Himself and guides us. Daily.

Recently, I was losing patience in the waiting. I had done all I could do in working towards something and was now waiting on answers. My frustration began to grow. I had decided to turn to God for peace and read God’s Word. While it provided peace, I continued to feel a restlessness within me. Later that evening, I picked up a devotional I’ve been working in and that day’s title was “Choose Patience.” Immediately I knew God’s hand was in that moment. That alone grounded me, leaving my heart open to receive the message the devotional was providing.

God asks us to seek Him, promising we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). There are times we actively search for Him. But we also have to continually allow our spirit to be open to recognizing those supposedly small moments He presents Himself.

God is there for you. He hears your prayers and is working for your good. I encourage you to reflect on times that things “coincidentally” lined up or moments you found answers in places you didn’t think they’d come from. That’s God in your life!

My prayer for you is that you are able to keep your heart, mind, and spirit open to His presence in your life so you can see Him working, strengthen your faith in Him and praise Him in those moments.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for a mind and heart that is open to You. One that is ready to receive Your guidance, presence, and blessings. Give me the wisdom to discern what comes from You and guide me in the actions You want me to take. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
